2021 Kia Niro EV Adds More Features, Keeps Same Price | Mini Auto

With the electric vehicle market on fire, Niro continues to operate.

Meet the Kia Niro EV 2021, which is almost identical to the Niro EV 2020. For 2021, Kia has not cut any additional driving range from the electric SUV, nor changed the body, interior equipment. or completely improve the power of the front engine. The story pretty much mirrors the story of the Niro hybrid, which has only minor tech updates for 2021.

For 2021, Kia adds a few new standard features to its late-comer electrified model — and that's pretty much it. The Niro isn't exactly topping any sales charts, so a car that's primarily a takeaway would make sense. New standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (the car was previously made with a wired repeater system), standard rear occupant alert, and a remote start function that lets you start preheat or pre-cool the vehicle.

Kia also added a number of new safety suites to the Niro EV for 2021. Now that includes Kia's suite of DriveWise driver assistance systems, including top-of-the-line vehicle departure warning, and Level 2 driver assistance. and navigation-based adaptive cruise control. As before, the standard Niro EV EX starts at $40,265, while the EX Premium sticker costs $45,825 (both before potential state and federal incentives apply). Range holds the line at an EPA-rated 239 miles on a full charge, too. If you're looking for an EV from Kia with a bit more range and more pep, you might want to wait for the upcoming EV6 to arrive next year.
