2022 Fisker Ocean - Electric Vehicle Trends - 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds | Mini Auto

Starting price: $37,499

As more and more electric vehicles hit the market, car buyers will see new automakers emerge. Tesla is just the first of a new generation of automakers to emerge. There will be many more. Some will survive, others will not, and some will become part of other automakers.

One of the more exciting new models will be the 2022 Fisker Ocean, a five-seat electric crossover that the company touts as "the world's most sustainable vehicle".

"Our mission is to be the #1 e-mobility provider on Earth, delivering the world's most desirable and sustainable vehicles while disrupting the old auto industry model." - from how customers get a vehicle, to choosing affordable insurance, said services a Henrik Fisker, President and CEO of Fisker Inc.

We'll explore everything we know about Fisker Ocean 2020 on the following pages. As with many future vehicles, specifications are subject to change as the vehicle approaches production.

Fisker is planning a comeback with a trio of all-new electric vehicles, starting with an SUV the company is calling the Ocean. During its official unveiling.
Ocean 2022 will start at $37,499 when it finally goes on sale. Fisker will also offer a lease-like subscription plan that costs $379 per month and allows an impressive 30,000 miles per year that includes maintenance and service. However, it requires a $2999 upfront. The company currently accepts a $250 deposit to reserve a copy.

Engine, transmission and performance
The Ocean 2022 will be electric only, offer two- or all-wheel drive, and the fastest version is said to be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. That's all we know for sure about the powertrain of Fisker's upcoming SUV. It is also said that the Ocean will have a battery pack of at least 80.0 kWh.

Range, charge and battery life
The upcoming Ocean is expected to have a range between 250 and 300 miles, which is more than the Audi e-tron or Jaguar I-Pace . However, it costs significantly less than one of the luxury electric crossovers. Ocean will be compatible with most EV charging stations, and Fisker has partnered with Electrify America to provide owners with an unspecified number of free chargers.

Real-world fuel economy and MPGe
As full details about the Ocean are yet to be announced, we don't know how well the luxury SUV will perform. Once more specifics are announced and we've had a chance to conduct our real-world testing, we can gauge how the Fisker compares to other electric SUVs.

Inside, Ocean has a simple layout that's offset by some simple controls. Along with the large touchscreen display, the Fisker dashboard incorporates a digital gauge cluster, front display and white suede material stretched throughout it. However, the number of premium standard amenities is expected to be limited as the Ocean is marketed as an affordable electric vehicle. We just hope its rear seats and cargo area are more useful than those in the company's ill-fated sedan.

Infotainment and connectivity
Despite the lack of specifics, the upcoming Ocean will feature a state-of-the-art infotainment system complete with a large touchscreen and two wireless chargers. While some luxury competitors offer intuitive smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it is uncertain whether Fisker will do the same.

Safety and driver assistance features
While we don't know what specific driver assistance technology will be available in the Fisker SUV, we expect it to offer many of the standard and optional safety features common in modern cars and self-driving features.
