Honda has lifted the curtain on the long-awaited Everus VE-1, an all-electric crossover built specifically for the Chinese market.

Developed by Honda and joint venture partner Guangzhou Automobile Group, the Everus VE-1 was launched earlier this year with an attractive EV Concept. Most of the concept's eye-catching styling details were kept for the production model.




The Honda Everus Everus Sport VE1 pure electric vehicle (BEV) is equipped with a 53.6 kWh battery delivering a range of 401 km / 251 miles (NEDC).The 430 kg / 948 lbs battery pack of the Honda Everus Everus Sport VE1 has an energy density is 125Wh/kg and is guaranteed for 8 years or 150 000 km / 93 750 miles.


Everus Sport VE1's power and performance

The powertrain of the Honda Everus Everus Sport VE1s produces 120 kW (161 hp) and 280 Nm/207 lb.ft of torque.
The top speed of Honda Everus Everus Sport VE1 2019 is 140 km / h / 88 mph, accelerating to 50 km / h in 5 seconds.

Based on the NEDC driving cycle, the energy consumption of the 2019 Honda Everus Everus Sport VE1 is 14 kWh/100km.

Price, launch and other information

The price for the Everus VE-1 is 170,800 yuan, or about $24,600 at current exchange rates, making the crossover about 42,000 yuan (~$6000) more expensive than the Honda HR-V. However, locals won't have to buy the VE-1 if they want to enjoy it. Rui Chida's local electric car sharing company has revealed that it will introduce a fleet of VE-1 vehicles that users can use.

The Everus VE-1 is Honda's first mass-market electric vehicle but will join the retro-inspired Urban EV next year.
