Spacious space is also thanks to the "terrible" wheelbase of 3.2 meters.

Built on the same E-GMP platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (and Kia EV6), the long wheelbase and flat floor open up a plethora of design possibilities. In a press release, Hyundai said "the streamlined, single roofline and extended wheelbase provide a clear difference from traditional SUVs powered by internal combustion".



If from the Hyundai Ioniq 7, we expect many outstanding features of the SEVEN Concept body, exactly as happened during the transition from the Concept 45 to the Ioniq 5 , of the interior, each element reminding us of that we're ahead of a prototype. One clever thing is an interior airflow system inspired by passenger aircraft. There are two modes, one in which outside air is brought in through an intake on the roof rails, before being vented out through an outside vent near the rear wheel. This forces airflow through the cabin and ensures a constant supply of fresh air. Another, more direct mode, draws air straight from the dashboard to the rear vents.


The SEVEN concept is targeted to achieve an all-electric range of over 300 miles, while the 800-volt charging system could theoretically power the SEVEN from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes. minute. Hyundai notes that the SEVEN is just a concept and its specifications should not be considered from an upcoming production model.

Based on the Group's modular E-GMP platform, the Hyundai SEVEN Concept is equipped with a battery pack capable of ensuring an autonomous driving range of approximately 480 km, with the ability to recharge it with a maximum output of 350 kW, so can go from 10 to 80% capacity in just 20 minutes.


It is not yet known if it will be available for both rear wheels with a dual-motor scheme, thus resulting in an all-wheel drive system, for more power and a slightly reduced range. .

The Ioniq 5 will go on sale in the next few months (and we'll have a review of it in December), while the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7 will be announced in the next year or two. The Hyundai SEVEN concept will be on display at AutoMobility LA at the LA Convention Center from November 19 to 28, 2021.
