BMW is pushing ahead with the development of a purely electric BMW X1, which will be named BMW iX1. Currently, this new car is undergoing related tests in Munich, with information that the car will officially debut in 2022.



The BMW iX1 will be based on the new generation of BMW X1, so it's not a purely electric product, but rather from the FAAR 2 platform. Of course, like the latest version of the CLAR platform, The further upgraded FAAR 2 precursor platform will also be more electrified.


The new car will feature a new front fascia, including newly designed headlights, a larger front grille and a new styled front surround. However, the iX1, being an electric vehicle, is expected to have a self-contained treatment on the grille. The sides and rear of the new car will also be different from the current X1, and new wheels will be offered.



As is common practice today, this car is expected to be equipped with a range of battery specifications, and at the same time, an all-electric version is expected. and possibly more engines.
