The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has just been released.

                 


                The 718 Cayman GT4 RS was one of the last sports cars to use Porsche's internal combustion engine, before the company gradually switched to purely electric products.


                The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been unveiled at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. It is the most powerful commercial variant of the Cayman small sports car.


                Porsche also announced the car's performance at the Nurburgring-Nordschleife racetrack. With a total time of 7 minutes 04 seconds and 511 parts per thousand, the Cayman GT4 RS is about 23.6 seconds faster than the GT4.


                Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS inherits many design features from the gt4 European Series or Trans-Am Series races.


                The designers changed many exterior details, giving the Cayman GT4 RS a 25% increase in road pressure compared to the Cayman GT4.


                The application of lightweight materials such as CFRP or special glass materials... The total mass of the car reached 1,464 kg, which is about 22 kg lighter than the Cayman GT4.


                With the Weissach upgrade package, many details on the car are made from carbon fiber such as capo, mirror cladding, rear spoilers ...


                Similar to the older ones such as the 911 GT2 RS or GT3 RS, the car is added wind escape in the front wheel socket to increase aerodynamics.


                The standard version is equipped with a 20-inch cast aluminum wheels. Customers can upgrade the option of magnesium wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.


                In order to enhance the airflow of the engine, the side window has been replaced by an air intake made from carbon fiber.


                The most prominent feature on the exterior of the car is the aerodynamic wind wings with a swan neck design. This detail is inspired by the 911 RSR race car.


                The dual exhaust system of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS is made from titanium alloy.


                Overall the interior is not much changed compared to the Cayman GT4 version.


                The sports seats are designed specifically for the GT4 RS version with a carbon fiber bearing frame.


                The taplo board area of the car combines many high-end materials such as carbon fiber and Race-Tex fibers of similar quality to suede.


                The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is powered by a naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, producing up to 500 horsepower and 449 Nm of torque.


                Unlike the Cayman GT4 launched in 2019, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS has only the option of a PDK dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox.


                Thanks to the new suspension, the chassis of the Cayman GT4 RS is about 30 mm lower than the standard version. The driver can customize the properties of this part.


                The Cayman GT4 RS is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than the standard GT4 version. The maximum speed of the car is up to 315 km/h.


                The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS will be available at dealerships in mid-2022, with prices starting at $141,700.


                At the same event, Porsche introduced a dedicated version of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. This model starts at $229,000.
