BMW recalls iX and i4 because of battery problems, owners shouldn't drive or charge their electric vehicles

The Suspect iX vehicle was manufactured between December 2, 2021 and June 30, 2022. The Suspect i4 vehicle was manufactured between November 22 and June 13. Suspect package carries part numbers 8846469 and 884646 for iX and 8847350 and 8847342 for i4.


Dealers have been notified of the issue, with instructions to replace affected cells. Affected owners will be notified by first class mail on September 19, and in the meantime, “drivers will be instructed not to drive and not to charge their vehicle.” The report added that motorists will be instructed to "park away from the works."
