Honda ZR-V launched - hybrid engine option, e-CVT transmission

Honda Japan received orders for ZR-V from September. The car has 2 engine options.

Honda Japan has just released detailed images of the exterior and interior of the all-new ZR-V model. Despite having the same name as the model launched in China not long ago, the SUV in Japan has a distinctly different design.

The front bumper of the ZR-V has a polygonal shape with vertical spokes on the inside that feels quite similar to the models of the Maserati brand, this design is different from the honeycomb shape on the Chinese market ZR-V. The lighting system uses LED technology with an L-shaped DRL strip wrapped around the outside.

Honda ZR-V sold in Japan has side skirts, copper wheel cavity covers with exterior paint. The Honda badge has a blue border, this detail shows that the car is equipped with a hybrid powertrain.

The cockpit of this SUV is almost identical to the HR-V model sold in the US. The car has a fully electronic speed screen, the air conditioning control area still uses physical keys. Notably, the car is equipped with an electronic push-button gear lever.

Honda Japan offers ZR-V 2 engine options: 1.5L turbocharged petrol and 2.0L hybrid. The hybrid engine combines a 2.0L gasoline engine with 2 electric motors, accompanied by an e-CVT gearbox and AWD 4-wheel drive system. The Japanese automaker does not provide technical specifications for this engine block.

The Honda Japan website will start accepting orders for the ZR-V from September, delivery time has yet to be announced. Carscoops page said that the European market is also about to have the appearance of this model, but only the e:HEV version.
