This diesel engine is called e-Skyactiv D with two different power levels: 197 hp in rear-wheel drive and 251 hp in all-wheel drive. This will be a new option in addition to the 3.0L hybrid petrol engine configuration as part of what Mazda calls a "multi-solution approach".

The manufacturer did not disclose the performance of the 3.3-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 197 horsepower, but said that the car only consumed 4.08 liters per 100 km.


The diesel engine has been criticized for being noisy, but Mazda reassures that the new engine is quiet and operates smoothly and quietly, creating less vibration. In addition, the 3.3L inline 6-cylinder diesel engine weighs only as much as the 2.2L diesel engine in the CX-5 series.
