Toyota India launches Urban Cruiser Hyryder - challenge Kia Seltos

INDIA - A new SUV jointly developed with Maruti Suzuki, equipped with a hybrid system, competes with the B-size high-rise car segment.



On July 1, the joint venture Toyota and Maruti Suzuki launched a new high-rise car model globally and received orders in India. The car is called Urban Cruiser Hyryder, competitively positioned in the B-size SUV segment, where there are formidable rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos. The appearance of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is similar to the Toyota Raize, especially at the front of the car. The headlights are separate with LED daytime running lights, and the lower grille has a diamond-shaped mesh pattern. The taillights are uniquely designed in a dual C-shaped style and stratified like the front lights. The rear bumper has a bold design, the exhaust is hidden inward. Set of 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.




Two-tone interior, 9-inch touch screen for the central infotainment system, similar to the Toyota Glanza brother. The screen supports Toyota iConnect, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first compact SUV equipped with a hybrid powertrain in India, with Toyota's fourth generation of hybrid e-drive technology, used on the Yaris hatchback and Yaris Cross models.



The hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5 petrol engine with a capacity of 92 horsepower and maximum torque of 122 Nm, combined with an electric motor with a capacity of 79 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. The two combine to produce 114 horsepower, mated to an e-Drive transmission.

The Neo Drive version uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 101 horsepower and maximum torque of 135 Nm. Optional manual transmission 5MT or automatic 6AT. Single or two-wheel drive.



Safety features on Urban Cruiser Hyryder include ABS / EBD / BA brakes, electronic balance, traction control, hill start assist, downhill assist, tire pressure control, automatic throttle, 6 bags gas.



Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is sold in India with two variants, including Neo Drive with 4 versions and Hybrid with 3 versions. The car will be sold from August, the price announced at the same time.
