An electric Chevrolet Equinox at $35,000

Car Blog - Chevrolet is banking on accessibility with its next electric vehicle. The elegant new electric Equinox will be offered starting at $35,000 and will offer up to 480 km of autonomy. It becomes the most affordable electric SUV on the market.

Ultium technology
The Ultium Technology battery delivers an estimated 210 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque for base models with front-wheel drive. An eAWD system with 290 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque is available as an option. One-pedal driving is standard and allows the Equinox EV to accelerate and slow to a complete stop, using only the throttle. It's paired with regenerative braking, which can convert kinetic energy from the vehicle's momentum into electricity stored in the battery to maximize range. The Equinox EV also incorporates the latest charging technologies. You've got standard Level 2 (AC) charging of 11.5kW7, which can add up to 54 miles of range per hour of charging, according to GM's estimates. 19.2kW Level 2 (AC) charging is available on 3RS eAWD models, adding approximately 82 miles of range in 1 hour of charging, according to GM estimates. You also have fast charging capability of up to 150kW, which adds around 112km of range in 10 minutes. Plus, GM covers the Equinox EV battery with an 8-year/160,000 km limited warranty, in addition to the vehicle's standard bumper-to-bumper coverage for added peace of mind.

Autonomy Grid

Embedded technologies
Inside, you've got a 17.7-inch-diagonal screen starting with 2LT models, a solid suite of driver-assist tech that's standard and available with optional Super Cruise tech. You have the more traditional style with the LT model and sportier with the RS model. You have the choice of 19-inch to 21-inch wheels and up to 1,614 liters of rear cargo space. When it comes to comfort and convenience, heated front and rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and even a heated windshield wiper feature, which helps keep the area around the windshield wipers free of ice accumulation, are available.

Arrives Fall 2023
The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV is expected to be available in fall 2023, starting with a limited-edition 2RS. Additional details and ordering information will be available closer to the start of production. The Equinox EV will be produced at GM's production facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.
